Love O2O (Chinese: 微微一笑很倾城) is a 2016 Chinese television series based on the novel of the same name written by Gu Man, starring Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang. It aired on Jiangsu TV and Dragon TV from 22 August to 6 September 2016.
Today, I want to talk about a drama I'm currently watching. The Chinese drama: Love 020.
I typically only watch Korean dramas. Once in a while I'll watch a drama from Japan or Taiwan. So I tend not to watch a lot of Chinese dramas. Mostly because Chinese dramas tend to be 30 or 50 episodes long. I can't watch more than 16 episodes of a drama because I get bored easily. Sometimes I can't even watch 16 episodes because I feel bored.
However, I'm currently obsessed with this Chinese drama. I'm currently on episode 24 and I'm loving it.
Here are the reasons why I love it.
1. Story
Love 020 is about Xiao Nai a Senior in college who's admired by everyone because he's smart, Athletic and the president of a game company. Xiao Nai falls in love with Wei Wei when he sees her playing an online game. He then begins a relationship with her the in the game. In other words, they become partners/are married in the game. However, he doesn't reveal his true identity to Wei Wei. As they start playing in the game together. Wei Wei begins to fall in love with him. What she doesn't know is that the Senior she admires is the person she's been playing with. So the storyline is about their romance and how they fall in love in the game.
I personally have never seen a drama about online gaming. So I feel like the story line is unique. It's also set in a college setting so I like that as well because I like storylines set in school settings.
2. CGI
Instead of just showing the characters playing the online game. For example:
The drama shows the characters inside the game. So we see the characters inside the game beating monsters and raising pets.
In order to show the world of the game, the drama uses CGI. However, I really like the CGI they used. Plus, it's great to see the online game. Its also great to see the main characters interacting in the game.
3. The male lead
The male lead Xiao Nai, is played by the handsome Yang Yang. He is the perfect man. Sometimes too perfect. I mean he is the top student in his major: computer science. He is the top or #1 ranked player in the online game. Also he's good at sports. For example, he can play basketball and swim. Plus, he's hot. :joy:
Seriously, he is just perfect. I also love the way he treats Wei Wei. He takes care of her. He also defends her when people try to treat her badly. However, at the same time he knows there are some battles she needs to fight on her own. So he's willing to step back and let her fight her own battles. I love that  :grinning:
4. The female lead
The female lead Bei Wei Wei, is played by the beautiful Zheng Shuang. She's her departments beauty but she is not only beautiful. She's intelligent and a avid online gamer. I love her character because she's nice but she's not afraid to stand up for self. In other words, she's not afraid to kick butt in the online game and in real life.
5. Xiao Nai's Friends
These guys are awesome. Xiao Nai's friends are loyal, smart and funny. They are awesome so I love them.
6. Romance
I love the romance because it's so cute. Xiao Nai and Wei Wei are just too cute. I love how we get to see them grow in their relationship. For example, when they first meet in real life they were so awkward. They were eating lunch but they were silent through out the meal. I remember watching that episode and thinking they were so awkward. :joy: However, You can see their relationship develop as you see them get closer together. Now they hold hands and wink at each other :joy: . They are just too cute.
So these are the reasons why I love this drama. If you haven't seen it go give it a try. I'm sure you'll like it.
Well, thanks for reading all of this.
